I recently watched a TikTok that accurately explained the purpose of organic social posting in an easily digestible way. This outlook is something that we always try to convey to our clients here at Alpha Social Media so I wanted to share in a way that makes it easier to envision: If 10 people came up to you and told you they liked your outfit you'd probably think "huh, I must've done a good job picking out this outfit today". If 100 people told you they liked your outfit, you'd probably think "wow, I should wear this outfit more often". If 1,000 people came up to you and told you they liked your outfit, you'd probably think to yourself "I'm absolutely wearing this outfit once a week and maybe I should even consider becoming a stylist?!"

I could keep going on with higher and higher numbers, but you're starting to get the point, right? Well then, why do we think if 1,000 people view our reel on Instagram that means it didn't perform well? There could have been 100 potential customers in that bunch of 1,000 viewers who will use your business or purchase your product and you should see the value in that!

The reality of posting on social media is that your posts won't always go viral. In fact, you may never have a post go viral and that's totally okay! Posting on social media is about so much more than posting to go viral and generating high performing posts. I won't pretend that there isn't an exhilarating feeling that comes from a video getting over 1 million views - because it's definitely fun - but it isn't everything.

You should be focused on creating a consistent posting strategy filled with content that makes sense for your brand, tells your story, and is visually appealing. By focusing on an organic social media strategy for your brand you're creating an important touchpoint that could lead to sales in the future.

This is another thing people need to understand - the sales process isn't automatic. It takes time and that works in terms of your social media pages selling for you too. So don't get discouraged when you start really focusing on your social media strategy and you don't suddenly get millions of people at your door ready to buy.

Just remember - a post that gets 1 million views could generate zero leads, while a post that gets 100 views from people in your target audience could generate a $60k deal. You never know 👀
