Working at a Social Media Marketing Agency is kinda crazy! Right off the bat, I had to relearn how to use my laptop because Microsoft Windows, which I've used all my life- was out! Seriously, when you've done something a certain way all of your adult life, then on-demand, for a paying boss, do it differently...Yikes!
But, luckily my boss, Rich Haik is pretty cool. He let me take my "Apple" laptop home (when he barely even knew me- sucker!) and let me practice. I even watched YouTube vids (that's videos, so other "oldies" can understand), to familiarize myself with what would become the most important piece of equipment I use.
Notice, I said "equipment;" not something else, like my brain. That is something still required these days...although I seriously wonder how much longer even that will be necessary! But, I'll get to that later. If I'm meant to blog every few weeks about what I do, see & experience here at Alpha Social Media, I think I'll do a series. So, if you're reading this- sweet! (that's something old folks used to say). If something is really cool, you can emphasize the first syllable: "sah-weet!"
Ok, so how old are we talking here? Not ancient, but super close to 60. My co-workers, aka the ASM Team are 29, 28, 25 & under. Perspective. They are all very talented too. They do the more complicated things like: Organic Page Management, Ads Management (Google; Meta - that's anything Facebook related, including Instagram; TikTok; LinkedIn), Graphic Design including Logos & full Branding Guidelines, professional photography & videos, Website builds (from scratch!) or edits & updates to existing ones, and SEO Management. Don't ask me about SEO, it has something to do with how & what order your ads, company, etc., show up on social media. Pretty important stuff!! But you CAN and SHOULD ask them!
Anyway, thankfully for you and for me, all I do is operational; mainly billing and scheduling. But I'm learning a lot and as an old teacher-at-heart, that's a good thing! That's it for now from me. Till next time, peace out! (That's another nugget from my 'Vintage Vernacular'). Got that title from Chat gpt- maybe we'll talk about that next time.
